Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TeachKit AI collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Platform. We designed TeachKit to minimize data and to keep students out of it entirely.

1. Who we serve

TeachKit AI is intended for educators and adults (18+). It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 13.

2. Information we collect

• Account data: name, email, password (hashed), plan.
• Billing data: processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we store limited references (e.g., customer ID, card last-four), never full card numbers.
• Usage data: the prompts you submit, resources you generate, AI credit usage, downloads, and basic device/log data.

3. We do not want student data

You agree not to enter student names or other student PII into the Platform. We do not request, require, or knowingly store student records, and the Platform is not designed to process them. This supports your compliance with FERPA. If you believe student PII was entered, contact us to have it removed.

4. Children's privacy (COPPA)

Because the Platform is for educators/adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, we operate outside the scope of services directed to children. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it.

5. How we use information

To provide and improve the Platform, generate your resources via our AI provider, process payments, meter AI credits, provide support, ensure security, and comply with law.

6. AI processing

Prompts and generation context are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce your resources. We instruct the model not to emit PII and engineer prompts to avoid it. Do not submit confidential or personal information about students.

7. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us operate (hosting, payments, AI, email), under contract, and as required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Data retention & security

We retain account and content data while your account is active and as needed for legal/operational purposes. We use industry-standard safeguards; no method is 100% secure.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data. Contact Support@teachkitai.com.

10. Schools & FERPA

For school/district customers, we can enter a data-processing addendum addressing FERPA obligations. Schools remain responsible for directory-information and consent decisions.
